Battle for the Bell (Ohio vs Marshall)

Ohio and Marshall have met many times on the football field but for the last six seasons, the game has meant a little bit more. When the rivalry returned to MAC play, the schools agreed to establish a traditional trophy for the winner.

Hence, the Bell, which resembles those found on steamboats along the Ohio River that divides Ohio and West Virginia. The Thundering Herd won the first three contests before the Bobcats captured the Bell in 2000.
